Chapli Kebabs

Method

  1. Mix together the chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, coriander, tomatoes, green chillies, and mix it with the minced meat.
  2. Add all the spices ( Shemin’s Chilli Flakes, Shemin’s Garam Masala, Shemin’s Cumin Powder and salt). Mix well.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and mix thoroughly. Then, add the flour to make the mixture less wet and more sticky so that the kebabs hold their shape better.
  4. Form the meat mixture into thin kebab patties and set them aside.
  5. Heat a frying pan, add oil, and place the kebab patties in the pan. Cook both sides for 2-3 minutes or until browned.
  6. Serve with Shemin’s Mango Chutney, Aubergine Pickle, and Shemin’s Indian Breads, with salad, or enjoy on their own.

  • Beef Mince: Provides a rich and robust flavour.
  • Lamb Mince: Adds a distinctive taste that pairs well with the spices.
  • Chicken or Turkey Mince: Leaner options that are still flavourful.
  • Pork Mince: Offers a slightly sweeter taste.
  • Mixed Meat Mince: Combines different meats for a depth of flavour.

2. Ensure Even Thickness: Form the kebab patties with an even thickness to ensure they cook uniformly.

3. Test the Mixture: Before forming all the kebabs, cook a small patty to taste and adjust seasoning and Shemin’s Garam Masala if necessary. The amount of salt is crucial to bring out the flavours.

4. Serving Suggestions: Serve with fresh tomato slices, onion slices, and top with coriander.
