Shemin’s Indian Curry Paste

Our multi-award winning paste will be your new secret when it comes to Indian cooking.

Ingredients

Optional:

  • Pomegranate seeds, to finish
  • Pinch of chilli powder, for extra heat

How to make Crispy Poppadom Chaat

1 – Prepare the poppadoms – Cook Shemin’s Poppadoms according to the instructions on the pack, then arrange them on a serving plate.

2 – Prepare the topping – In a small bowl, mix together the cooked potato, red onion and tomato.

3 – Assemble the chaat – Spoon the potato mixture over the poppadoms. Add small spoonfuls of yoghurt across the top, then drizzle with Shemin’s Mango Chutney or Aubergine Pickle.

4 – Finish – Scatter over Shemin’s Bombay Mix or Chevda, then sprinkle with Shemin’s Chaat Masala and fresh coriander. Add a squeeze of lime or lemon.

5 – Serve straight away – Serve immediately while the poppadoms are still crisp.

Tips

  • Keep it crisp – Assemble just before serving so the poppadoms stay crunchy.
  • Use thick yoghurt – This gives the chaat a creamy finish without making it watery.
  • Keep the toppings finely chopped – Small pieces make the chaat easier to eat and help every bite feel balanced.
  • Mango or aubergine both work – Mango chutney gives a sweeter finish, while aubergine chutney adds a lighter more savoury twist.
  • Make it your own – A few pomegranate seeds or a pinch of chilli powder on top work really well here.
